1st round in Rochester
My first day in Rochester is finally over, I love to play but today was a hard one because I did not hit my driver very well and I spent most the day looking for balls in the heavy ruff. I scored pretty well considering not hitting more then 2-3 fairways. On this course it is key to hit the driver straight since it is a tight treelined course with high and thick ruff. I’m glad I am a strong girl and can power though the wet grass and also my chipping and putting helped me make up n’ downs all day long.
I am putting really well now, I have been practicing with Butch Harmons yellow Inside Down the Line putting tool from Momentus Golf and it has really helped my putting stroke. I also strengthen my grip a bit and that helped me as well so I do not have to release the putter as much to get the ball rolling online.
I went to the driving range after my round and found a small swing thought that helped me hit my driver straight like an arrow again, so hopefully tomorrow I will make up some ground to the leaders. Time to go to bed now, wakeup call at 5am…..can’t wait!
See you tomorrow,
Mikaela
