golf
Golf is my passion and fortunately my job. I have dreamt and lived golf since I was a young girl and it is such an amazing sport because you learn about yourself and the game every time you play. Here are a few of my thoughts to help you get the most out of your game. First of all the game is all about short game, get the ball up and down around the greens so you can allow yourself make mistakes. It is amazing what happens when you let yourself make mistakes, you will relax and the ball will go where you want it to go. I used to spend 80% of my time chipping when I was young. I have not realized until later in my career what a blessing that was. I am going back to practice chipping again to ease off the pressure of my long game. The game needs to be played naturally with only the the target in your mind not a bunch of technical thoughts about the golf swing that we all tend to do. To find your natural swing that makes the ball go at the target that is the challenge. It is like playing basketball and we just look at the hoop and shoot. It does not matter how we do it as long as the ball goes in the hoop. Believe me I have learned so much about the golf swing. I tried so many theories and they all made my swing look pretty and helped me hit the ball better but it takes so much practice on the range to keep it up because it was all a forced motion. I the end I am not scoring better because my time is spent on the range instead of on the chipping and putting green. We also have the mental part of the game and the better you get the more mental the game becomes. The saying is that the game is 90% mental and I agree with that to a certain degree. You really have to believe in yourself and your ability. My mental approach when I play my best golf is to play golf without thinking at all. To do that the game has to be all natural and played on instinct and feel, that is my ultimate goal with the game. To reach this goal I am not working with any technical coach this year so I can free up my mind and just swing the golf club. To make practice fun and interesting I do short game drills all the time. I pick two to three drills to complete every day before I go out and play a minimum of 9 holes. I will explain my drills and make videos throughout the year so maybe one of my drills can make you a better golfer. I would love to help you with the game and answer questions please write in my guest book and I will try to answer all the questions. I have learned the game from some of the best and I want to thank them all, they have in different ways contributed to my game and my knowledge about the game.
